Teepa asserts that while caring for someone with dementia is hard it doesn't have to be awful. Caregivers should not be afraid to ask for help because the stress and overwhelm of caring for a loved one can also impact their own health if they don't remember to take care of themselves as well. She also explained that dementia doesn't cause someone to lose their dignity, it is the way they are treated that does.
